Testing Survey Monkey For June OpenJUMP User Survey

I thought I would test out Survey Monkey as a way of collecting information about the poeple and organizations using OpenJUMP. This would also be a way for people to provide feedback on their usage patterns and experiences using OpenJUMP. You can take the survey here:

June OpenJUMP User Survey

I'll publish the results at the end of the month.

Google Map Maker and Open Street Map

I ran across a post on the OpenGeoData blog that talked about Google Map Maker. This is a web application from Google that allows users to create vector data by digitizing satellite photography in certain parts of the world (not in the United States).

You can read the OpenGeoData blog post here:

You can view, and try out, the Google Map Maker web application here:

Where's Tibet

I try not to get involved in political issues of great controversy, but this blog post about Google "loosing" Tibet caught my eye. It made me think long and hard, especially because I use so many Google services like G-Mail.
